Welcome to Emmanuel Church, Forest Gate!
We are so pleased to have you with us!
We would like Emmanuel Parish Church to be a place whose foundation is God;
where all people are welcome, worship God, receive support, share fellowship, and work together.
We seek to break new ground, and to find ways to relate to our diverse community,
Including thoes of other faiths and of no faith, so that God's kingdom will come on earth.
We see ourselves as the kind of church physically and socially at the heart of its community.
We strive to make it a place where people, regardless of background or spiritual tradition, can feel at home.
Our Mission
We believe that God sent his Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to pay the penalty of death for us;
so that we can be reconciled to God and have the gift of a loving relationship with Him through His Holy Spirit.
We believe that we are all called to participate with God in His good works and that all are offered the same
wonderful gifts that God has bestowed on us through Jesus Christ.
We believe that part of that mission is to meet the Spiritual, Pastoral, Social, and Physical needs of our
congregation, as well as of all the people within and around our parish, to the best of our abilities.
We believe that another part of that mission is to teach and equip everyone who comes to us,
young or old, to not only deepen their relationship with God, but to discover the skills and abilities
God has uniquely given each person and to help them grow and develop in His service.
Our Church Traditions
We have not historically been defined by our Ecclesiastical tradition, but by our commitment to
serve the people in our parish which includes our congregation and those in our wider community.
Our services tend to be more of the Anglo-Catholic tradition, with a familiar liturgey, hymns, and a small choir, while
our ministires tend toward more Evangelical traditions that see us going out to meet the community,
as well as sees us welcoming the community in to our church with praise, family and Urdu language services.
We are also priviledged to offer the Eucharist on a weekly basis at our church, and welcome
all who would like to partake in our communion to join us on Sundays.
